Starting the history of medicine brilliantly as Korea-first modern medical center last year, Yonsei University Health System has been recognized as a living witness of Korean modern medical science and medical education, and Gangnam Severance Hospital has functioned as the central medical institution of Yonsei University Health System with Severance Hospital. Gangnam Severance Hospital was established to spread the human-based medical treatment and advanced Yonsei medicine based on the love, sacrifice and Christian spirit, the principles of Yonsei University foundation in Gangnam area, Seoul which was an unproductive land in .
After that, Gangnam Severance Hospital has become the medical institution that has faithfully executed its given role in the Korean medical industry under the nations’ reliance and support. The International Health Care Center is trying to establish a one-stop service system which can minimize the number of 'stop-by's if possible during your visit, and our service coordinators who are fluent in many languages (English, Japanese, French) are available to assist you.

BILLING
METHODE OF PAYMENT
Often times, the payment of treatment is required prior to treatments or most of the procedures such as scheduled diagnostic tests and surgical procedures. For your convenience, the hospital accepts Visa, Master Card, BC, American Express and other credit cards as well as cash.
International SOS is a major assistance company which can guarantee billing at this hospital. Please make sure if you or your company is a member of International SOS.
INFORMATION ON PURCHASING MEDICATION
For out-patients (filling the prescription from a local drug store)
- See a doctor.
- Pay your bill at the cashier&pick up your prescription through the prescription dispenser.
- Purchase medication with your prescription at a local drug store within 7days.
- If the prescription is not used within 7 days, you must return to the hospital to get a new prescription with charge.

Four-hour parking is free for out-patients with the receipt of payment.
NFORMATION FOR IN-PATIENTS
- What to bring
- Comb, shampoo, cosmetics, toothbrush/ toothpaste, slippers, cup, etc.
- Your insurance cards and/or identification, if any. - What not to bring
- Please do not bring any of the following items: any electrical appliances, jewelry, valuables, large amount of cash, or credit cards. Keep in mind that the hospital is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items. - For your safety
- Always wear slippers with non-skid soles when walking around.
- Do not hesitate to ask for help if you feel weak, dizzy, or lightheaded when you get up.
- Use the call switch in the bathroom for help.
- Smoking and using electronic appliances are prohibited throughout the hospital. - For your convenience
- Convenience store(By the Way) is on the B1 level next to the entrance.
- Coffee shop : located in the main lobby next to the outpatient pharmacy.
- Food Garden: located in the basement and open everyday from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., except for the first Sundays of every month. In-patients are not allowed to enter inside the restaurant due to infection control purposes.
- Flower shop: Located outside of main building next to the emergency room near the parking entrance.
- Pay phones: available on each floor.
- Bank: Woori Bank is located on B1 level.
- ATM machine: located on B1 level next to 'By the Way.'
- Prayer room: located on the second floor near OR; opened 24 hours, seven days a week. - Medical Certificate
- Ask the nurse if you need a medical record/doctor's note during your stay. - Parking
- The first 30 minute is for 1,500 won (but within 15 minute is free) and after 30 minute, 500 won for every 10 minute. Overnight parking from 10 P.M. to 6 A.M. is 1,000 won.
- Free parking is available on the days of admission and discharge.
- On Sundays and holidays, in-patients can get a free parking permit at the nurses station.
