Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism

The Endocrine Research Institute established in 1992 studies about the characteristics of Korean endocrine diseases under the support of Korea Research Foundation, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Science and Engineering Foundation, and commercial enterprises and exerts all our efforts to develop methods of medical treatment suitable to Korean. Under the support of the Ministry of Health and Welfare since the year 1999, we have been concentrating on studying the causes of diabetes in Korea and on developing their medical treatment and prevention method.

The Osteoporosis Research Institute together with the Mogam Biotechnology Research Institute has developed the recombinant form of parathyroid hormone that is spotlighted for the next-generation treatment of osteoporosis and is currently testing for its clinical effectiveness through animal experiment.
