The Department of Psychiatry at Severance Hospital, from the time of its initial medical examination and treatment first in Korea, has tried every effort to restore patients’ health by providing global level of medical services with the fundamental spirits of “Sensible and Scientific Medical Treatment.”

Best medical staffs in Korea are providing the highest level of medical services for the mental diseases such as depression, alcohol dependence, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, insomnia and schizophrenia. Our department, equipped with latest instruments of checking brain functions such as MRI, PET, qEEG and fMRI, performs medical treatment services by using advanced medical techniques like transcranial magnetic stimulation and biofeedback together with latest chemical therapies in order to make more accurate diagnosis of diseases.

Also by operating the Mental Health Clinic for Cancer Patients, our department helps cancer patients to overcome their difficulties through a mental health control and has established a cooperative medical treatment system to raise patients’ quality of life.
